V&A

Spent a happy afternoon off work at the V&A and Natural History Museum (previous post). Here are my blurry pictures from the Japan and China and Silver rooms of the former.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Now exhibiting at the Natural History Museum, London.
Here are some of my favourites from this years collection of astonishing and creative views of the natural world.

Chungking Express

My new favourite film.
Here's a music video made by the film's director Wong Kar Wai using footage from the film. The song is "Be My Baby" by The Ronettes.

Architectural punchbowl

Extraordinary jelly-sculptors Bompas and Parr (previous post) are also organising the creation of a punchbowl so big you could row a boat across it for London's Architectural Punchbowl (via Spoonfed.
"The Architectural Punchbowl will contain over 4,000 litres of a brand new cocktail featuring Courvoisier’s exclusive mixing cognac Exclusif."
Tasty!

Architectural Punchbowl at 33 Portland Place, London w1.
8th-10th December.

Architectural jelly

Amazing sculptural and glow in the dark jellies from Bompas and Parr.
In their own words:
"Bompas & Parr creates fine English jellies, designs bespoke jelly moulds and curates spectacular culinary events.

The work of Bompas & Parr operates in the space between food and architecture. Our projects explore how the taste of food is altered through synaesthesia, performance and setting. Currently the focus of our research is jelly: jelly is the perfect site for an examination of food and architecture due to its uniquely plastic form and the historic role it has played in exploring notions of taste."

Down with cake! Long live the jelly!

Krakow

A few snaps from my short break in Krakow last week. The Natural History museum, the salt mines, the camps at Auschwitz and the city.

Movember

Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer.
Here is a quick lil illustration I made in support of the Movember event, being as I am of course unable to grow my own mo'. :)
